Trees and palms
Pruning at reach height, and a plan for storm season
Most trees on an association's property need small, regular cuts rather than big ones. We prune at reach height, trim palms before hurricane season, and tell the board when a tree needs a specialist.
What is included
Low limbs lifted over walks and drives
Palm fronds and seed pods trimmed
Dead wood removed at reach height
Larger jobs marked for a specialist, with a photo
Storm-season trimming scheduled before June

How it works
How tree work is decided
Nothing goes up in a bucket truck without a written approval.
- 01
Walk the trees
Bernadette walks the property and notes each tree that touches a roof, a walk or a wire.
- 02
Mark by priority
Trees go on the report as routine, soon, or for a specialist, each with a photo and a location.
- 03
Prune
Routine work is done on the monthly visit. Larger work is scheduled once the board or manager approves.
- 04
Hand off
Removals and work in power lines go to a crew with the right equipment, and the report tracks the job to the end.
Questions
Questions about trees
Do you remove trees?
Removals and work above reach go to the board first. Bernadette signs off before a bucket truck is booked.
When are palms trimmed?
Before hurricane season starts on June 1, and again in the fall if the board wants it.
Can you cut a tree back hard before a storm?
Heavy cuts can hurt a tree. We lift and thin instead, and we say so plainly when a board asks for more.
Get the trees on the report
A walk is enough to list every tree that needs attention before storm season.
